INSTALLATION DETAILS AND TECHNICAL DATA ELECTRICAL DETAILS

This regulator has been made specially for normal asynchronous three-phase squirrel cage motors with star connection, connected to fans or aspirators, whose absorption is lower than 6-10-16A, depending on the model, and for nominal star phase-neutral voltage up to 220V (380V on line ±10%). It allows speed regulation from about 30 up to 100% of nominal speed by choking the supply voltage with triac circuits. The use of this system may cause small motor overtemperature on low R.P.M. This anomaly, however, is acceptable if we consider the regulator to be particulary reliable, small and cheap. The regulator can be used with any ohmic load and within its electric features. For this use it is possible to supply regulators without minimum adjustment, therefore adjustment field varies from 0 up to 100% of grid voltage. It is housed in a IP55 plastic container: controls and adjustments are situated on the front panel.

INVERTER (WALL) INSTALLATIONE AND START-UP

1 - Remove the 6 screws of the frontal panel A and lift the cap.
2 - Set inverter with the 4 screws B , first clearing the holes by slipping the screw from outside and pounding it lightely. More over, set spacing pipes. C
3 - Connect supply wires to terminal D NOTE: Connect terminals 230V three-phase voltage to RF-SN-T, while 230V single-phase voltage to RF-SN terminals, don’t use T terminal.
4 - Tighten frontal cap with the 6 screws A
5 - Set switch adjustment E 6,5A for 230V threephase supply and 10A for single-phase.
6 - Feed inverter by lifting the door I and afterwards the automatic switch lever F : motor starts to turn. Display L will show 10,0Hz value (20% of motor speed), with potentiometer hand grip G slowly turn clockwise to reach end of stroke, the motor will turn fastly and the display will show 50Hz (100% of motor speed). As the inverter has a 10 seconds acceleration – deceleration ramp, the attainment of wanted turns will come 10 seconds later. This allows to limit electric grid voltage drops and a better fan mechanical operation.
7 -It is possible to set minimum frequency between about 10 and 25Hz, equal to minimum speed between 20 and 50%. Such setting is possible by turning H trimmer counterclockwise. 8 - To stop the motor lower the switch lever F , breaking inverter voltage. Additional notes. Inverter is set so that main functions don’t need any setting, besides the possibility to change setting through M setting keyboard, i.e. to limit maximum frequency to a value lower or higher than 50Hz, to use external converters and reference signals, etc. In order to adjust the inverter, the motor must be stopped. Therefore it is necessary to press Stop button N . Allarm led and Run led will lighten. At this point it is possible to start setting, following manual instructions, where first thing to do will be to position on PROGM led and set first program step at 1, in order to allow setting.
